Export Compliance Services, Inc. is based in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Diane Woodburn is the founder of the company.  Since January 1996 Diane has specialized in the export control and compliance field. She is a recognized expert within the industry.  

Prior to establishing Export Compliance Services, Diane was the Director of International Trade Compliance for Honeywell Aerospace, a company having over $11 billion in annual sales.  She managed a worldwide staff of over 100 full-time and part-time export compliance officers.  Diane’s passion for export compliance resulted in the development of outstanding compliance programs on a global scale:  Diane developed programs for all Honeywell Aerospace domestic locations, as well as developed programs for locations in China, India, Europe, Mexico, and Canada.

Licensing officials with the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Department of State have praised Diane’s compliance programs as setting the standard for the exporting industry.  A member of the Society for International Affairs, Diane’s advice and assistance regarding the development of compliance programs has been sought by industry members.  Over the past decade, Diane has been responsible for the submission of thousands of license applications to the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce and Treasury, resulting in thousands of governmental authorizations permitting the export of controlled products and technologies.

Diane has been an adjunct professor at Mesa Community College; she taught the subject of export control and compliance as part of the college’s business curriculum. Prior to working in the export compliance field, Diane spent ten years as a Special Agent for the Arizona Attorney General’s Office investigating complex white collar crime cases.  Diane holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University.
